Leisure Review – preferred bidder
Following a bidding process, New Forest District Council have announced that Freedom Leisure, a not-for-profit trust, are the preferred bidder to be recommended to manage their health and leisure service.
Cllr Mark Steele, Portfolio Holder for Health and Wellbeing said “I am delighted to be able to announce that Freedom Leisure are our preferred bidder in the review. Freedom Leisure are a not-for-profit Leisure Trust, where all surpluses are reinvested in support of shared objectives with their partners. Their approach to running community facilities really impressed us and they have demonstrated their track record in achieving what we would wish from a leisure service for the New Forest.”
Freedom Leisure will present their approach at some online customer sessions starting 27 January. Details of the dates and times and how to attend will be added (on 20 January 2021) to https://leisure.newforest.gov.uk
The recommendation will be going to the following decision-making meetings:
- Community and Leisure Panel (9 February 2021)
- Cabinet (17 February 2021)
- Full Council (25 February 2021)
Cllr Mark Steele, portfolio holder for health and wellbeing at NFDC, and the NFDC project team will also be at the presentations to answer any questions.
